The Benue State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), has promised to make the state an industrial hub to soak up the teeming jobless youths, restore security to the volatile communities of the state and return Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) to their ancestral homes.
He also reaffirmed the zeal of his administration to create employment opportunities for the youths, establish factories to process the state’s abundant mineral resources into finished products to stimulate economic growth and significantly improve the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Chief Aondoakaa, who stated this while addressing Kwande/Ushongo women in Makurdi, also reiterated his commitment to restoring security across the state, assuring the women that decisive measures would be taken to end insecurity, to enable Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) return safely to their ancestral homes, and resume their farming activities without fear.
The PDP governorship candidate urged women to remain united and committed to ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming governorship election.
He expressed appreciation for the confidence and support the women have continued to demonstrate towards his aspiration, and urged them to return to their various communities and mobilise their families, friends and neighbours to embrace the PDP and support his candidature, emphasising that grassroots engagement remains the key to electoral success.
He described the Kwande/Ushongo women as critical stakeholders in the movement to rescue and rebuild Benue State.
Also speaking, the PDP Deputy State Chairman and former Chairman of Kwande Local Government, Hon. Azua Ashongo, urged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of Chief Aondoakaa ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In their separate remarks, Mrs Rose Iordaah, Mrs Vester Achinaku, Mrs Jebe and Mrs Ubwa appreciated Chief Aondoakaa for finding time to engage with them and unanimously pledged their unflinching support for his governorship ambition.
In a vote of thanks, Elder Isaac Abaiyol commended both Chief Aondoakaa and the Kwande/Ushongo women for fostering unity and strengthening the collective resolve to work towards the PDP’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
